Grateful Beginnings

It is a new year and we are thrilled to start by sharing a wonderful and heart-warming letter that we just received from Fred, one of our incredibly scholarship recipients.  This letter arrived, in a truly serendipitous and poetic fashion, today - on Fred's first day as a Senior Secondary School student in Ghana! Last spring, Paideia students came together to raise money for Fred to be able to attend school this year.  We are excited to share Fred's words of gratitude with the students to whom this letter was addressed, as they reconnect with CIH on Friday.  We hope your hearts are as touched as ours.

Dear Grade 7 & 8 Students of Paideia School & Sister Amy,

I would like to you to know that I appreciate the help and support you have showered on me. With your teachings and principals, you have indeed made a difference in my life and the way you encourage me to learn things are the special memories that I will always treasure.

I would like to convey my heartfelt gratitude to you for helping me. You made me understand how to grow with others and feel for them even when they may not belong to my family. You were the first to let me know how to share and care for others and I continue to share my blessings with the people around me.

I would further say that you have given me the sweetest memories that make me feel homesick and I understand that I was indeed loved and treasured. I am aware now that you did everything for my good. I hope that this letter finds all of you in the best of your health and I once again thank all of you for giving me those precious memories of my life, which I shall cherish forever with love and respect.

Your Friend,

Fred
