Spreading the Light

“When you are inspired by some great purpose, some extraordinary project, all your thoughts break their bonds. Your mind transcends limitations, expands in every direction and you find yourself in a new, great and wonderful world.” -Patanjali Yesterday we were in the flow of our destiny; a magical day of pure poetry. The Harvest Full Moon was setting as we began our preparations, shortly followed a glorious large pink sun rise amidst an orange hued sky as we rounded I-285 headed for Holy Innocent’s Episcopal School. Words can not convey the beauty of the day, and the power of passing the World Peace Flame onto two Chapels at HIES! Bonnie Taylor created a beautiful glimpse in this video.  Our hearts are full!

Due to the generosity of David Duncan with Paddywax, not only did each classroom receive a candle lit from the World Peace Flame, each child was able to take one home to their families. Beth Lynch spent time with each individual class after the ceremonies and shared, “some magical moments happened! In darkened rooms the class would gather around while I lit the candles - there was a reverence to it. When the kids began to understand the significance of their candle carrying the World Peace Flame and that they were "keepers" of sorts, they began to come up with hushed ways that they could use the candle at home and even share the flame with friends.

We passed this special Flame onto the 4th graders at Cliff Valley School on Tuesday. We have since heard that one of the students went outside that evening, by herself, and had her own peace vigil. Rivers of light continue on spreading the innate beauty and love of these children inspiring hope. Agbe enyakpo!
